#12 Mizzou 23 #17 Oklahoma 14
Mizzou came out and just looked flat after not wrestling for almost a month. Two overtime losses, a one-point decision, and a one-sided match all led to Mizzou having a surprisingly close dual. Mocco missed this dual, but it doesn’t sound like anything significant so heshould be back. This was a frustrating dual to watch, as it felt like Mizzou should have been much more successful than they were. I’m chalking it up to a long break and the semester just starting, but Mizzou is going to have to get right with a short turnaround before they wrestle against SDSU on Saturday.
125lbs: #13 Noah Surtin over #32 Joey Prata (Dec. 4-3)
This was Surtin’s tightest win of the season, and he needed a last minute takedown to get the win. Prata scored the first takedown early in the first period and Surtin struggled getting through his defense, even with a mix of upper and lower body attacks. Surprisingly, Surtin didn’t find much success on top either, giving up a quick escape. He stayed on the attack however, and eventually shot through Prata’s defense and scored a rideout to win. Surtin was one of the wrestlers that looked flat, but he managed to gut a tough win here and did well to stay offensive the whole match.
