The Mexico Lady Bulldogs and the Marshall Lady Owls face off in their annual NCMC Dual. This is the third meeting between these two teams, the second time for an NCMC conference dual (In the 2020-2021 season they met at the Marshall Invite).
Last year’s dual Mexico handed the short-handed Lady Owls by a score of 54-10. This was originally supposed to be a triangular meet but according to the Lady Owl’s coach extenuating circumstances prevented that from happening.
The Lady Owls have quite a bit of experience in their lineup heading into this dual with several of their starters being seniors vs. the largely inexperienced Lady Bulldog roster. In addition to being a conference matchup, this is also a District Tournament matchup for both teams.
Marshall built an early lead by winning two of the first three matches of the night, giving them a 12-6 lead. The Lady Bulldogs took the lead briefly heading into the bout at 130 lbs, in which the wrestler from Marshall got the pin in the first period. After the 140 lb. weight class, Marshall would take the lead and not look back. They won the dual 39-30.
