The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Missouri State Chapter Banquet will be held on Sunday, October 21st, 2018, at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia, MO.  Our official release will be revealed next week with our awesome slate of National Wrestling Hall of Fame Inductees as well as our State Chapter Honorees!  Stay Tuned for Honoree and ticket info coming soon!!

The Missouri Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame has announced the 2018 slate of inductees for our Hall of Fame Banquet. We are inducting four Lifetime Service Award winners and an Outstanding American Award winner.  Our inductees will be celebrated Sunday, October 21st, 2018, at the Holiday Inn Executive Center located at 2200 I-70 Drive S.W., Columbia, MO 65203.  Our social will start at 2:00pm and the banquet will begin at 3:00pm.  All proceeds from the Hall of Fame banquet go directly to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Oklahoma, in the name of our inductees. For their tremendous contributions to the sport of wrestling, we are proud to announce the following inductees into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Oklahoma: 

•    Barbara Brummet - Lifetime Service to Wrestling
•    Charles “Chip” Bunner – Outstanding American
•    Les Gatrel – Medal of Courage
•    Robert Kopnisky – Lifetime Service to Wrestling
•    Jerry Middleton – Lifetime Service to Wrestling
•    Michael Slyman – Lifetime Service to Wrestling

We will also be recognizing our Missouri Chapter honorees: Athlete of the Year, Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award Winner and the Family Circle.  These awards are a way to honor individuals and families for contributions that have had a huge impact locally on our sport. 

The 2018 Athlete of the Year goes to Cevion Severado. Cevion won a state title this year for CBC High School, and a gold medal in Brazil at the Junior Pan-American Championships in August, contributing to Team USA’s Greco Team Title.  He will continue his wrestling career at the University of Missouri.

The 2018 Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award State Winner for Missouri is Zach Elam.  Zach is a 3 time state champion for Staley High School and a Fargo National Champion.  He will compete at the Junior World Championships in Slovakia this week.  He will also continue his wrestling career at the University of Missouri.

The Missouri Chapter’s Family Circle Honor is awarded to The Greco Family of Blue Springs, Missouri. The Grecos have been involved in Missouri wrestling for over 40 years and 4 generations and have contributed to the sport at many levels.

There will be a social hour beginning at 2:00 p.m., allowing time to mingle with the honorees and others in our wrestling community. Dinner will be served at 3:00 p.m. with the induction ceremony to follow. A cash bar will also be available throughout the duration of this momentous event. Please do not arrive before 2:00 pm for entry into the banquet area.

Reservations must be made in advance! Individual banquet tickets can be purchased for $50 per adult, $15 for children. Tables are available for $400 and will allow for seating of up to 8 individuals. There are also numerous sponsorship opportunities available if you are interested in sponsoring either an honoree or the banquet itself.

There has been a scheduling issue that is now resolved.  Please note that the Social hour will begin at 2:00 pm with the banquet beginning at 3:00 pmPlease adjust your schedules accordingly.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  We look forward to celebrating Missouri excellence with you on October 21st, 2018, but we will begin that celebration an hour earlier than previously released.  Thank you for your understanding!
