Marshall, Mo., (Nov. 7, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College women’s wrestling team remains in the top ten with the release of the first regular season edition of the NAIA Women’s Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 Poll, Thursday. Ten individuals are ranked, including one top-ranked wrestler.
The Vikings are ranked No. 8 in the coaches’ poll. This is tied for the highest team ranking in program-history since the creation of the NAIA coaches’ poll. Previously, MVC was ranked No. 8 in the preseason poll for the 2020-21 season. The team competed once during the latest ratings period, at the Simpson/Luther Hill Open.
Missouri Valley is one of five teams from the Heart of America Athletic Conference ranked in the coaches’ poll. Grand View (Iowa) is No. 1, William Penn (Iowa) is No. 5, Baker (Kan.) is No. 15, and Central Methodist (Mo.) at No. 20. Road duals against Grand View will be Nov. 26, William Penn, Dec. 5, and Central Methodist, Feb. 5. The Vikings host Baker in a dual, Jan. 22.
Eleven Vikings are ranked in their respective weight classes, led by Senior Kelani Corbett (Wahiawa, Hawaii) who is ranked No. 1 at 207 pounds. Corbett is a former National champion at 191 pounds and is a three-time NAIA All-American. The other ranked individuals include:

No. 12 Senior Hailey Holland (San Bernardino, Calif.) at 110 pounds.
No. 6 Senior Ashley Whetzal (Virginia Beach, Va.) at 131 pounds.
No. 8 Sophomore Serenity De La Garza (McAllen, Texas) at 138 pounds.
No. 20 Freshman Brenya Crahan (Clever, Mo.) at 138 pounds.
No. 17 Freshman Serveign Aumua (Grain Valley, Mo.) at 145 pounds.
No. 12 Senior Aniseta Acosta (Sacramento, Calif.) at 145 pounds.
No. 13 Senior Elise Falcetti (St. Louis, Mo.) at 160 pounds.
No. 17 Senior Autumn Perez (Dodge City, Kan.) at 160 pounds.
No. 11 Junior Zoey Smalley (Douglas, Ore.) at 180 pounds.
