I was really disappointed in all of the all stars that weren't there. Especially from the host school.

I thought it was a great dual overall.  However, when I saw the list of potential matchups, I knew it was unlikely that we saw them all.  As for the host school, 1 of the of their crop of projected all-stars wrestled, and another didn't wrestle because his opponent forfeited.  I'm not sure about the others, but most of them were there.  So, it may have been their opponent, them, injuries, other all-star meet obligations, etc.  But, back to your overall point, I selfishly hoped to see the full projected list of matchups take place, as well.

Here is my list of who didn't wrestle:

Sax-Saunders, Peterson, Heil, Singh-Orine, Curd, Kloeppel, Severado,  Winston-Dickhaus, Enos, Phippen, Malik, Shepherd, Kent-Shannon, Waters-Garrett.

All of these guys were on the list of matchups. There were some good matches there but a lot of guys were missing. It was hardly the event as advertised.

As far as CBC goes, the only one that wrestled (Zerban) wasn't on the list of matches advertised. It was a great match and a nice addition to the lineup.

Would have been nice, for sure.  I guess my skepticism of what I saw as a "projected lineup" is responsible for my differing view.  Even with the "watered down" matchups, every HS matchup (except one) featured a state champ, and at least 3 pitted state champs against each other.  But yes, it (by default) paled in comparison to the original slate.

Yes i had hoped to see CBC at the Elite Dual last year, when they sent their JV squad (and it was ugly), than they held kids back at  KCI this year,

CBC promoted the big Friday night dual meet against Edwardsville that was cancelled at the last minute this year.

So after all that one  could safely assume that CBC would not be wrestling or that other wrestlers would not go to CBC to wrestler due to the history of no showing at the last minute.

It was certainly not  the best venue for what promised to be some memorable wrestling.

When people show you who they are you would be wise to believe them. You can't really be surprised. This has been their pattern of behavior for the last several years.

I know in the case of Singh, he wasn't even contacted before his name was released as a participant.

I guess my main point would be they should've confirmed everyone before releasing the matchups. I'm not saying that we wouldn't have gone to it, but it definitely wasn't nearly the event as advertised.  On a side note, I could have done without the 2 30 minute breaks during this event. Lol!

Clearly you know nothing about CBC then, because if you did you would know that many of their wrestlers didnt compete at Kansas City due to illness. And the Edwardsville dual had nothing to do with anything under CBC's control. CBC didnt even run this event, they just hosted it at the school

CBC did not run this event. It was simply held at the school.

I apologize I think we were all under the impression that Mirikitani was on staff with CBC. He has been with a number of their wrestlers at national events.

I just miss the good ol Border Wars, Iowa, Ks, Ne, Oklahoma, Ill,  against the Mo State Champs that was some great wrestling and worth every penny.

It is for a good cause I will do anything to help out vets.  I will just send my money directly to Randy's foundation in the future. I am a  HUGH Couture fan.

Remember the ones that were held on St. Paddys Day during the NCAA at Union station?  Those were border wars.  Look at the lineup from 3/17/2015 (see below).  This is what I  think of when I think of Missouri  border wars or all star wrestling, not kids that took 4th or 5th wrestling a kid that took 2nd. The CBC ALL Star Battle was simple not what it was held out to be. There were some stars there but it was not ALL STARS it was some stars.  We were told one thing and sold something different. It is simple as that. S

Bring Back the Missouri Border Wars. Missouri against all the bordering states.

I know they signed up for Elite 8 Duels and no showed.   We all ready know what happened with the Edwardsville Dual, just not the same thing that happened when  they wrestlered the TN team.  Right.

We all talk,  text, drink with one another. We know.  I am not hear to break your denial. It was just not all star wrestling last weekend at CBC.  It just wasn't.

there are rules with weigh ins. There are rules in advertising. There are rules when it comes to fund raising.

You can't sell one thing and deliver something else. It is not ethical and it is not legal. At least at the CBC Edwardville Dual  the money was returned and that was the right thing to do.

But for this other deal.

Fund Raising has to be transparent.

It has to involve honest communication.

Fund raising is regulated by state law.

I  know that.

Jeremiah Reno and Sean Sax backed out of there matches against Cevion and Joshua

Sax had ankle injury BO Friday the day before the event.

Reno not sure the reason.

Thought David M. did a good job especially with all the last minute back outs.  I was impressed
