The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) will increase its sports sponsorship from 20 to 21 with the inclusion of men’s wrestling beginning in 2016-17, it was announced today by the Conference office. The addition of the league’s 21st sport was formally approved on May 25 by the GLVC Council of Presidents. Source: Maryville News
Georgi Ivanov, a Maryville University assistant wrestling coach, won his semifinal match in the World Olympic Qualifier in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and has qualified to compete as a member of the Bulgarian wrestling team during 2016 Olympics to be held in Brazil this August. Source: Maryville News
