The Grand View Open is one of the toughest NAIA tournaments of the regular season for the women. At this point of the season, the Lady Owls are vying for Conference seeding as well as trying to gain any momentum heading into the postseason.
Overall the Lady Owls would go 14-11 on the weekend. Out of their 14 wins, eight of them ended early by either a tech-fall or a pin. Leading the way for the Lady Owls, is Freshman Mariyah Brumley with 4 wins on the day (3 pins and a tech-fall) and earning 1st place at her weight class.
Another solid showing from the Lady Owls was Abby Piper at 160 lbs. She would go 3-3 on the weekend. Piper would start off the tournament by winning three straight matches after a first-round bye to reach the semi-finals in her bracket. However, she would suffer consecutive defeats, ending the day in sixth place.
