Westminster Men’s Team Struggled at Prairie Wolf Duals

Minimizing the amount of forfeits due to injuries, wrestlers not making weight, etc. is vital to be successful at any level of wrestling when it comes to duals. Westminster was missing two weights heading into this event and thus had to give up 12 precious points each round. This fact made it an uphill battle against all three of their opponents.

Their opponents this weekend were the #12/#15 Ranked Central College (their rankings vary based on which site did the rankings), Nebraska Wesleyan, and Schreiner University out of Texas. Highlights:

Both Michael Roberts and Austen Wetzel went 3-0 individually this weekend. Roberts, who has been on a tear lately when it comes to bonus point wins, pinned all three of his opponents to bring his season total to 16 to lead the team and is currently ranked 2nd in the country in this category. These three pins should help Roberts out substantially when it comes to the Regional and Conference seeding meetings that will take place during the second half of the season…
