Van Horn has had a stranglehold on the Crossroads Conference for quite some time now.
That sure didn’t stop in its quad dual against Bishop Ward (Kan.), Summit Christian Academy and University Academy. For the eighth year in a row, the Falcons captured a Crossroads Conference championship.
They topped Bishop Ward 77-3, defeated Summit Christian 64-18 and rolled to a 78-6 victory over University Academy. The Eagles took second as they defeated the Cyclones 48-12 and beat the Gryphons 48-18. University Academy defeated Bishop Ward 36-6 to take third.
‘It’s always nice to come out on top and keep the tradition going,” Van Horn coach Craig Addison said. “Hopefully we have bigger sights ahead than just winning the conference. A lot of kids are happy they got a gold medal today. It’s good morale and ego booster for our team heading into districts in two weeks.”
