The goal of this article is to give everyone an idea of how this District is shaping up as we approach an always exciting February.
This district is home to some powerhouse teams, many high-level competitors, and typically wins a significant amount of the eighty-four medals in the MSHSAA Class 4 Wrestling State Championship.
In the last two years, this district has had multiple top-20 teams in Class 4 and has traded years with District 4 as the district with the most medal winners. Just last season, this district had nine of the twenty-eight class 4 state finalists and had five state champions. At the top of the District is nationally ranked Christian Brothers College who was the Class 4 team state champions in 2018 and 2019 and currently ranked 3rd in the Class 4 team rankings to start the season.
This district also holds Jackson High School who is ranked 8th to start the season. Other top teams out of this district are Eureka, Lafayette (Wildwood), Lindbergh, Northwest (Cedar Hill), and Seckman. With these seven teams in one district together, this district championship is an event that is looked forward to every year.
This year should be no different.
