This week’s spotlight features the Jackson Indians.
Jackson, coming off a red-hot football season, finished 2nd in the state on the gridiron losing to Carthage 27-21 OT.
Normally, when we see high school football teams see this kind of success making it that far into the state playoffs and championship game, the wrestling team is slow to pick up.
This isn’t the case for the Jackson Indians wrestling team.
Jackson is currently ranked #5 in the team rankings by MissouriWrestling.com with individual rankings Sr. Riley Wiseman #5 at 113, Sr. Alec Bailey #5 at 126, Jr. Garner Horman #3 at 152, and Sr. Cole Amelunke #5 at 195.
The current starting line-up for the Indians has a combined 62-12 record or an 84% winning percentage.
