Park Hill enters Beck’s 2nd season looking to sustain championship form, compete with C4 favorites

By: Ross Martin

The final result didn’t meet the program’s lofty expectations, but Park Hill continued to be a top contender in Class 4. The Trojans have placed in the top four at the Class 4 Missouri State Wrestling Championships for 12 straight years, including in 2019 when they ended up third behind repeat champion CBC and Liberty in coach Jacob Beck’s first season at the helm.

However, Park Hill wants to compete with those two teams in hopes of returning to the state championship form of 2013-16. In the three years since winning the fourth of four straight team titles, the Trojans have been third, second and third, respectively.

“We are looking to improve on that finish and put ourselves in a position to make a run at a team state title,” Beck said. “The team is focused and putting in work everyday to make that a possibility.”

Park Hill will have five returning state medalists and seven total qualifiers to build around.
