3 Oklahoma State over #9 Mizzou (24-10)
Mizzou had a rough start to the dual and could never quite get things going as they dropped six matches and the dual to OK State. They were without Kade Moore due to illness and Logan Gioffre was hurt in warmups.

With a number of wrestlers competing at the Missouri Valley Open yesterday, they had no 133’s or 125’s to step into Moore’s spot. That combined with upset losses at 125, 157, and 174 gave Mizzou their first conference loss of the season and second on the season.
- Second dual in a row that Mizzou has looked flat.
Cornell had some bright spots with Noah Surtin and Kade Moore early, but outside of O’Toole it was a rough dual to find points. Surtin and Mocco were the aggressors in their matches, but weren’t able to finish before or during overtime. Brock Mauller didn’t come close to scoring off his own offense, Whiting was again overwhelmed by a top ten opponent, and Zach won on a tight rideout. At this point in the season guys can struggle with sickness, injury, or even just wearing down, but the coaching staff will need to find a way to get back to being the aggressors and finishing.
- There’s a good chance we see some of these again.
Unlike Cornell, Oklahoma State is in the Big 12 and there’s a good chance that some of these matches occur again at the conference tournament. Seeds can throw a wrench in things but nearly every one of these matches could be potential semifinals or finals matches. In a dual like this it will be intriguing to see what adjustments both teams make. I think at full strength that Missouri is a better tournament than dual team, but these matches are going to have to be flipped for them to compete for another Big 12 title.
- Time to worry about Brock Mauller?
Brock Mauller started his dual season with five consecutive bonus point wins before taking his first loss this season but is on a rough streak. After dismantling top ten Daniel Cardenas 14-8 and getting a major over a solid WVU wrestler. Since…
