The best indicator for a change in mentality at Lincoln Prep shows in this year’s expectations, even as the challenge becomes undeniably more difficult. The Blue Tigers put two talented freshmen in the Class 2 Missouri State Wrestling Championships a year ago but now must adjust to a step up in competition to Class 3 and one of the toughest districts in the state.
“We are a super young team with a lot of potential, it is up to the kids whether they want to be good or not,” Lincoln Prep coach Frederick Pitts said. “We have everything in place to be successful if they choose to be. “We are planning on taking a much bigger team to State this year and having our highest team finish in school history.”
Lincoln Prep has a second straight intriguing freshman class with strengths at opposite ends of the lineup.
