One of those wrestlers who bounced back was 145-pounder Jesse Newton, who rebounded from a loss to South’s Gage Baska. He was winning 13-3 Wednesday before his opponent, Alex Brauderick broke his arm and had to forfeit the match.
“Shout out to that kid, I feel really bad about that,” Newton said. “He just came down, and I didn’t see it coming or anything. Shout out to his folks, I will keep him in my prayers.
