Five Missouri Wrestlers Named NWCA Division I Scholar All-Americans

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association announced its 2021-22 Scholar All-Americans, with five wrestlers University of Missouri being recognized. Mizzou’s five honorees are good for the Tigers’ fifth consecutive season with at least four NWCA Scholar All-Americans.

Redshirt freshman Noah Surtin (Health Science), redshirt junior Allan Hart (Master of Education), junior Jarrett Jacques (Communication), freshman Keegan O’Toole (Personal Financial Planning) and redshirt sophomore Peyton Mocco (Industrial Engineering) were Missouri’s 2021-22 recipients.

The honor is the first for Hart, second for Surtin (2021, 2022) and O’Toole (2021, 2022), third for Mocco (2020, 2021, 2022) and fourth for Jacques (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022).

For individuals to qualify for the honor, the student-athlete must have at least one full semester of attendance and a cumulative GPA at the nominating institution. In addition, the wrestler must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and earned All American honors in the same academic year.
  • Must have a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have been a NCAA National tournament qualifier in the same academic year.
  • Must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA and Must have won 60% of their total matches in at least 60% of the team’s schedule.
  • Must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA and been a participant at the conference qualifying tournament.
