Any time a wrestler from Liberty High School steps in the circle at any given tournament, chances are they have a chance to win it.
Blue Jay sophomore Peyton Westpfahl is one of those wrestlers as he competed at the GroWrestling.com Fall Brawl Tournament last Saturday at Staley High School.
The sophomore is a rising star for the Blue Jays as he’s earned medals at Fargo Nationals and took fifth at state last year in the 160-pound weight class.

He proved that he’s a wrestler to watch out for this winter as he took first place in the 175-pounds weight class at the Fall Brawl tournament following a 3-1 victory over Dante Hutchings of Denver, Colo. in the championship match.
Westpfahl was one of four Missouri wrestlers to win their weight bracket including Seneca’s Brady Roark (126), Jefferson City’s Zachary Rackers (157) and Fort Zumwalt South’s Jayden Moffett (285).
Westpfahl got a takedown in overtime to break a 1-1 deadlock with Hutchings to take home first place. The sophomore said he just came off an illness to compete in the tournament.
