Chilli Hornets Make Late Comeback Against The Marshall Owls

The Chillicothe Hornets faced the normal season opener, Marshall Owls. The Owls and the Hornets first dual of the season.

The Owls coming in the season with one state qualifier Tytus Bellamy (1-0), who would pick up his first victory of the season by pin against Chillicothe’s Aiden Zimmerman (0-1).

The Owls being a predominantly young but progressing team, the Hornets, on the other hand, having 3 starting seniors, and several returning state tournament qualifiers returning. The Hornets picked up wins in the weight class 106, 138, 145, 160, 170, 220, and 285.

The Hornets were started off by junior, Sheldon Rader (1-0), he qualified for the MSHSAA State Tournament last season and was at the same weight class of 106.

His opponent was a freshman, Joel Montano (0-1), who was making his high school debut. Rader didn’t place at the state tournament last year but he wrestled against Montano like he had a lot of weight to carry, even as a 106 pounder.
