One of the top ranked recruits for the class of 2026, Miller Sipes has committed to the Air Force Academy. The Staley High School wrestler is coming off a state title at 144lbs, where he beat nationally ranked Iowa State commit Roman Stewart in the finals. Sipes is currently ranked #154 for the class of 2026 and #18 at 144lbs per MatScouts.
Sipes has a career record of 117-26 while placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at state. He missed his junior season due to a shoulder injury. He was 8th at Ironman and runner-up at Donnybrook this season. He was a double All-American at Fargo in 2024, winning Greco and placing 5th in freestyle.
He projects as a 149/157 for the Falcons, joining a large class of 12 incoming wrestlers. Sipes is the second highest ranked wrestler for the class and the only one from Missouri this season. Air Force does have Rylan Kuhn at heavyweight from MO and recently got a 2027 MO commit in Jackson Paulsen.
The Falcons have a number of wrestlers at 149/157 but Sipes could be in contention to start early with his resume. They haven’t had a qualifier at either weight since the 2023 season. Most Air Force wrestlers tend to grayshirt at their prep academy but if Sipes is the best option he could go in the lineup sooner than later.
