Westminster Blue Jays Have a Solid Showing at Maryville Open

One match at a time.  This is the mindset and approach that the Westminster Blue Jays are taking on both on an individual level as well as for the team.  The only thing that matters is the match you’re wrestling.  Not the last one or the one that might be coming up.  Just this match.  

This approach appeared to work out well for the Blue Jays as they finished with five of their eight competitors finishing in the top eight in their respective weight classes.  Despite early round losses by four of the five podium finishers, they were able to rebound in the consolation side of their brackets to rattle off wins by taking the approach of “one match at a time.”  

Senior Montomgery Mills chose to bump up to heavyweight to start his senior campaign after spending all of his previous seasons at 197 lbs. He would finish the day in fourth place, losing to the same opponent from Indianapolis twice by major decision (he lost to him in the Quarterfinals as well)…
