Here we go, updated Missouri girls pound-for-pound rankings. These are always fun to look through, especially since we are mid-way through December and have been seeing some quality matches these girls having been displaying. We are so lucky in Missouri to have such a high-level of girls wrestling.
At #1 we have a freshman from Centralia, Ava Ward, who is an international wrestling star. She’s traveled across countries and has brought back gold. Ward is currently ranked #3 by USA Wrestling
Number two is Maddie Kubicki from Park Hill South who is currently undefeated in her high school career, including a pin over the #3 p4p wrestler Haley Ward, and chasing her fourth state title. Kubicki is ranked #1 by USA Wrestling as well as #18 in their pound-for-pound rankings
At #3 is Fort Osage’s Haley Ward. Ward recently committed to wrestle at the University of Iowa under Head Coach Clarissa Chun. Ward is three-time Missouri state champ with a 134-1 career record. She took seventh a the Junior freestyle national championships in July, third at the U20 world team trials in May, and fourth at the Cadet world team trials in 2021. She is currently ranked No. 5 nationally at 164 pounds by USA Wrestling.
