2020-2021 Outlook
Keys to success in the 2020-21 season:
Our keys to success will be in the process. We need to show our leadership early in order to get the younger guys ready. We have lot’s of experience back and are excited to see where they can finish this year.
Concerns about the lineup or challenges for the team this season:
We will control what we can control, our effort and attitude. As long as we stay healthy, we should be right in the fight all season.
Please list any impact freshman or transfers
Simon Hartline (Freshman) will be at 106. He has had lot’s of youth success and put’s a lot of time in. I expect him to fight for a spot on the podium right away.
Ben Bluel (Senior) is a transfer from Kansas where he was a 2 time state placer. We look to use his past experience and success right away.
How will the newcomers/transfers help?
Our newcomers are apart of the Monett Wrestling FAMILY now. They will help tremendously as long as they buy into the process. They have a great base that we intend to build on weekly.
Coach’s quote on overall thoughts about the team:
This team is a fun group that loves a challenge. They are passionate and motivated. I cannot wait to see what they are capable of come February.
Coach’s quote on expectations for this year’s team:
I expect to see them battle daily. We always ask that our athletes compete at a high level and they understand that pressure is a privilege. We like that we have a bullseye on our back. It drives us to work harder than before.
