2020-2021 Outlook
Keys to success in the 2020-21 season:
Stay the Course…Knock the Rust Off
Obviously finding off-season mat-time was difficult this spring an summer. This team traditionally wrestles in many events all year long and this year that was curbed. This team has something to try to prove as they have been in the top 5 in the state the past 5 years but top 4 only once. There is a great balance on this team of senior leadership and young experienced talent. This team has high goals and the experience to back it up if they stay healthy throughout the season.
Concerns about the lineup or challenges for the team this season:
The major concerns for this team are external like everyone as in STL county there are severe limitations on sports. The other concern is in getting some of the young wrestlers of this team to fill in the shoes of the graduated veterans.
Please list any impact freshman or transfers
Several impact players with two starting transfers. Senior Joel Mylin from Illinois(1st 106 2019,3rd 2019 113) and Sophomore Ben Matheus from Pennsylvania will showcase their skills in this lineup.

The freshman team has several future impact players. Many will not fit in the varsity lineup this season but two that will be there are :
106 Dylan Roth was a 3rd Place USA ranked kid last year
113 Jayden Kennington as a USA SQ
126 Sam Thomas AAU Finalist
145 David Marshall AAU State Champ
182 Andrew Wier 4x USA Medalist
220 Alex Nouhan AAU Finalist

How will the newcomers/transfers help?
The transfers about will both fit into the lineup into needed slots for the team this year and help solidify the dual meet and tournament lineup. Joel Mylin will be attempting to earn his second state title this year!

Dylan Roth has had a busy off-season and is a very experienced freshman at 106lbs.

Coach’s quote on overall thoughts about the team:
Our Team Slogan this year is “Find a Way”. This group is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals.
Coach’s quote on expectations for this year’s team:
Our expectations are similar to our goals from the last several years….Conference champs, District Champs and Top 2 in the State
