2020-2021 Outlook
Keys to success in the 2020-21 season:
We will need to grind to get better every day.
Concerns about the lineup or challenges for the team this season:
I have a lot of young or inexperienced wrestlers. Some of them are young and inexperienced. The ones that will stick it out will be a good wrestler.
Please list any impact freshman or transfers
I can’t remember the last time I had a transfer to Holden that was of any impact… maybe 9 years ago, and then they weren’t the wrestler the Holden kids were. They didn’t last.
How will the newcomers/transfers help?
N/A
Coach’s quote on overall thoughts about the team:
We will have a good team and my wrestlers will know how to wrestle.
Coach’s quote on expectations for this year’s team:
Wrestlers really are better than other athletes because only a select few understand their suffering. It is so far removed from anyone not involved in the world of wrestling. They sweat and cry alone, with their teammates and coaches, and are brought out for inspection a handful of times per season. The rest is just work. I tell them to savor the journey because the reward of winning is fleeting, and everything must be proved again.
