While I mostly focus on Mizzou for college wrestling, there are plenty of wrestlers from Missouri that go elsewhere that have success at Division I and I wanted to highlight them. I’m going to highlight some of the more prominent names or ones I think may make an impact this season. I’ve already done deep dives into 2023 commits with individual articles, feel free to check those out as well!
Class of 2022:
Kal Miller (Maryland): The only true freshman starter here, the younger Miller brother came in and made an instant impact for former Missouri wrestler (Moberly High School) and now Maryland Head Coach Alex Clemsen. Miller had a 0.500 record at 18-18 at 141lbs, but qualified for NCAA’s and had impressive Big Ten wins. He’s a cornerstone of an improving Maryland team.
Jack Darrah (Stanford): Darrah redshirted with new coach Rob Koll, and finished with a 12-8 record at 184lbs. He didn’t have any huge wins, but showed some potential for growth. Last year’s starter Brook Byers returns after going 15-10, but Darrah could challenge for the spot.
Kyle Dutton (Little Rock): The highest ranked recruit on the 2022 Big Board, Dutton impressed at Little Rock with an 8-2 record at 149 lbs…
