125 has been crazy already, and Surtin unfortunately was on the receiving end of some chaos. Drawing last year’s Big 12 champ in the first round was tough, and a lone takedown was the difference. Surtin came razor close to getting swipes off a tilt, but wasn’t able to hold long enough. He now sees Brendan McCrone, a true freshman who has wins over Dean Peterson and Jakob Camacho.

Being the 26 seed, the expectation is to go 0-2. I thought Moore had some upside against Bailey but he struggled to slow down Bailey’s offense and get out from bottom. His draw doesn’t get easier as he’ll see returning All-American Nagao, who was upset in the first round. Nagao hasn’t had the season people expected, but is a great on top and a tough match.
