Sampson Stillwell: Mizzou Tiger

After getting their first 2025 recruit a few weeks ago, the Tigers have added another one this week. Sampson Stillwell posted a commitment to the Tigers after a visit during the LSU football game that included fellow commit Peyton Westpfahl. The rising junior competes for St. Michael the Archangel High School, under head coach Matt Infranca.

Through two years of high school competition, the #2 junior in Missouri and #8 heavyweight in the country has a record of 68-1 with two state titles and a 2022 Kansas City Stampede championship. He’s also extremely accomplished internationally, finishing 3rd in 16U Freestyle and winning 16U Greco at Fargo in 2022. He built off that in 2023 by finishing 3rd in Greco Roman and winning a spot on the U17 World Team for Freestyle at the US Open.

Currently he is the highest recruit from Missouri on the 2025 board at #45 overall. He’s the #2 heavyweight in the class of 2025, behind Nick Sahakian who he split matches with at the US Open. Already an imposing 6 ‘4 and ~245lbs, he’ll be looking to add to the list of Mizzou heavyweights from Kansas City in college.
