Recruit Spotlight: Sam Ewing, Pleasant Hill / Buffalo

With the growing success of high school wrestling in Missouri, I’m going to start highlighting every senior wrestler currently committed to a Division I school. With only two Division I schools in the state, more and more talent is spread across the country.

Sam Ewing is a three-time state champ for Pleasant Hill High School. He won titles at 106, 113, and 132 before a 3rd place finish at 144 as a senior. A career record of 177-9, Ewing had 36 pins as a senior. 

Ewing is committed to Buffalo University, a MAC school who went 8-12 last season. Ewing projects as a 141/149. At 141 Buffalo has a potential new starter in Caleb Brooks, who is a senior that just transferred in from NIU….
