#10 Mizzou vs #21 Lehigh
All Time Record vs: 3-2
After beating Binghamton and losing to NC State, Mizzou will face #21 Lehigh. Lehigh beat Central Michigan 25-6 and lost to #1 Iowa 28-7. They currently feature five ranked wrestlers, but that number is likely to go up after some upsets. After a tough, emotional day for both teams, I’m curious to see who is going to come out better prepared on day two. There’s significant matches at 125lbs, 141lbs, 149lbs, 157lbs, and 285lbs. At times, Mizzou has come out somewhat flat in their first duals of the day, so they will have to fix that or else Lehigh will take advantage. They could surprise some of our wrestlers along the way. The rankings are still from last week because of when this dual is happening but may end up having significant changes by the end of these Collegiate Duals.
125lbs: #15 Noah Surtin (6-1) vs #11 Jaret Lane (8-1)
Jaret Lane is in his second year starting for Lehigh after going 2-2 at NCAA’s this season. Yesterday he suffered his lone loss of the season to #1 Spencer Lee 8-0. Surtin is on a tear after beating Camacho yesterday, but Lane will be a very different match up. Considering Spencer Lee was only able to major Lane, his defense has shown to be solid and he’s not easy to turn. Surtin will need to look to get to his underhook and get on top without getting too crazy and giving up any reversals.
Prediction: Surtin Dec. Lane 6-3 (MIZ 3 LEH 0)
