Odessa senior Bryce Palmer overcomes adversity to win state title

What Odessa senior Bryce Palmer went through during his senior year at high school, some people don’t even experience in a lifetime.

It has been a tumultuous and heartbreaking senior year for Palmer.

During the summer of 2020, the heartbreak started when one of his teammates on the high school football team, Kade Kehl, died in a car crash on I-35.

“We were all devastated,” Palmer said. “None of us have been through something like that.”

About two months later, Odessa cheerleader and one of Palmer’s best friends, Sophia Patrick died on Aug. 1.
