New Class 2 Boys Rankings

As the new season of Missouri Class 2 boys high school wrestling unfolds, the anticipation and excitement surrounding the first rankings are palpable. This initial ranking provides a glimpse into the evolving landscape of Missouri’s wrestling scene, showcasing both individual talents and team strengths. Last year’s state tournament standings set a high benchmark, with Pleasant Hill leading the pack at 145.5 points, followed closely by Mid-Buchanan with 135.5 points. The competition was fierce among the top contenders, with Odessa (113.0 points), Ste. Genevieve (93.0 points), and Cameron (92.0 points) rounding out the top five.

The latest rankings reveal a significant reshuffle in the hierarchy of Missouri’s Class 2 wrestling teams. Odessa, previously third, has surged to the top with an impressive 135 points and a remarkable nine wrestlers ranked, signaling a strong start to their season. St. Michael the Archangel Catholic makes a notable entry at second place, accumulating 118 points with six wrestlers ranked, demonstrating their rise in the competitive landscape. Ste. Genevieve maintains their presence in the top tier, securing the third spot with 111 points and seven ranked wrestlers, reflecting their consistent performance. Mid-Buchanan, a strong contender last year, is now placed fourth with 97 points and five wrestlers ranked. In a remarkable tie for the fifth position, Savannah and Kirksville both stand with 73 points, but with Savannah having five wrestlers ranked and Kirksville four, adding an interesting dynamic to the competition.
