Mizzou’s Rising Stars: Summer Achievements and the Road Ahead for the 2024 Recruits

After a somewhat smaller 2023 recruiting class, Mizzou has already picked up four wrestlers on the 2024 Big Board. I’ve done individual articles on all four highlighting their achievements at the time, but wanted to give a broad update on what these wrestlers have done over the summer, what they will be looking forward to this upcoming season, and recruits to keep an eye on plus late additions to Mizzou’s current roster. To recap, their current recruits are Aeodan Sinclair, Mack Mauger, Gage Walker, and Jake Stoffel

The current gem of the class is #9 overall recruit Aeodan Sinclair. Ranked #1 at 195, the Askren Wrestling Academy wrestler will be seeking his third state title this year in Wisconsin. Before that however, he will be competing against teammate and Penn State recruit Connor Mirasola on September 2nd in the esteemed Who’s Number One event.

Since his initial commitment, Sinclair made the finals of Super 32 before having to injury default, went undefeated his junior year, placed 5th at U20 US Open, and made the U17 world team. At U17’s Sinclair had a brutal draw where he went 1-1.

Mack Mauger was the first recruit in the 2024 class and is currently #67 on the Big Board and #6 at 113lbs. Hailing from the growing state of Idaho, Mauger has dominated in-state, winning his third state title. While ranked and competing nationally at 113, Mauger won his latest title at 120.
