Mizzou Wrestling’s Hart Named MAC Wrestler of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Wrestling 141-pound redshirt junior Allan Hart was named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week, announced Wednesday by the league office. It marks his second MAC Wrestler of the Week accolade this season, joining his honor on Jan. 6 following the Tigers’ season-opening road trip.

The Akron, Ohio, native continued his stellar open to the 2021 campaign this past Sunday (Jan. 17) at the Iowa State Tri-Dual. Hart improved to 6-0 this season after a pair of victories in Ames, highlighted by a 7-4 decision over No. 4 Ian Parker (Iowa State).

The Tiger grappler now possesses four nationally ranked triumphs this season, ranking first among Mizzou wrestlers. Last Sunday’s win over Ian Parker joins previous ranked victories this year against No. 9 Dresden Simon (Central Michigan), No. 16 Grant Willits (Oregon State) and No. 23 Clay Carlson (South Dakota State).

Hart enters this Saturday’s second Mizzou Tri-Dual ranked top 10 in each major collegiate wrestling individual rankings. He sits as high as No. 4 in 141-pound individual rankings according to FloWrestling.org. Dating back to the 2019-20 campaign, Hart has tallied victories in 13-of-14 matches and 15 of his past 17 individual contests.
