After bringing in twelve recruits last season, the Tigers have a much smaller class this year with three recruits. Carter McCallister and David Cross are homegrown Missouri talents, while Jarrett Stoner is from Texas. McCallister is #74 on the Big Board, which is the second ranked recruit from Missouri. Cross is #168, which is the sixth ranked recruit from Missouri. Stoner isn’t on the Big Board, but there is only one recruit from all of Texas on the board at all.
Carter McCallister won three state titles, after a runner-up finish as a freshman. He had a career record of 162-2, along with going undefeated his final two years of high school. His latest title came at 150, so he projects as a 149/157.
With Jarrett Jacques graduating this year, and Brock Mauller with one year left, Mizzou could have another Columbia native in line to start in the future. He’s likely to redshirt, but should be a factor in the future.
David Cross was a three-time state placer, and his father was a Tiger wrestler from 1983-1988. Cross placed 3rd at 113 as a freshman, then 5th at 120, and was a runner-up at 138. His senior year was unfortunately cut short by injury, but was 10-0 before having to finish…
