Indianola, Iowa, (Nov. 4, 2023)- The No. 14 Missouri Valley College women’s wrestling team opened its season at the Luther Hill Open in Indianola, Iowa, Saturday. The Vikings competed against programs across various divisions, and were led by five individuals that advanced to the placing rounds.
No. 19 Sophomore Jade Martin (West Plains, Mo.)-136 pounds:
First Round: Received a bye.
Quarterfinal: Lost to Kayla Reddick of Waldorf (Iowa) in a 13-12 decision.
Consolation Second Round: Received a bye.
Consolation Third Round: Defeated Kara Rivard of Cornell (Iowa) in a 10-0 technical fall.
Consolation Semifinal: Defeated Neve Barragan of Waldorf (Iowa) in a 15-2 technical fall.
