Marshall, Mo., (Nov. 4, 2023)- The Missouri Valley College men’s wrestling team opened its season at the Dan Harris Open, hosted by Baker (Kan.) in Baldwin City, Kan., Sunday. Two Vikings advanced to the placing rounds to lead the team.
Junior Brenden Parks (Elburn, Ill.)-174 pounds:
First Round: Received a bye.
Quarterfinal: Defeated Terek White of Neosho County (Kan.) in a first period (0:46) pin.
Semifinal: Lost to Garrett Davis of Labette (Kan.) in a 19-8 major decision.
Consolation Semifinal: Defeated Unattached Ethan Jackson in a 17-0 technical fall.
Third Place Match: Defeated Riley Courtney of Ouachita Baptist (Ark.) in a 13-10 decision.
Parks placed third at 174 pounds.
