Missouri Freestyle State Tournament Recap + Video Interviews

Some of the best high school wrestlers in the state competed in the Boys Freestyle Tournament Saturday at the Mathewson Exhibition Center in Sedalia.

The winners of each cadet and junior weight class qualified for the Missouri USA Wrestling team. Those who finished second in their weight class in the cadet divisions also qualified for the second national team.

All the national teams will compete at the Fargo Challenge Tournament on June 19. The junior teams will also compete in the Junior Duals in Tulsa, Okla., and the two cadet teams will compete in the Cadet Duals in Love Park, Illinois.

Juniors

113: Liberty sophomore Hunter Taylor won by tech fall in both of his matches against Rolla’s Blake Marlatt to take first place in his division.
