The next to last dual meet of the season for the Mexico Lady Bulldogs and the next to last set of duals for the seniors. The other three teams, including Southern Boone, are District 2 opponents and opportunities for many of the Lady Bulldogs to see how they will match up with their opponents and with a few wins, edging them in seeding criteria.
The Lady Bulldogs kicked off the night with their dual vs. Southern Boone. The individual victories would go back and forth between the two teams most of the night. After the first six weights were contested the score was tied at 18-18. However, Southern Boone Lady Eagles would win 4 consecutive matches to push their lead to 42-18 entering the last three matches of the dual. The Lady Bulldogs secured victories in the final three weights but came up just short, losing the dual by six points.
The second round was versus the Fatima Lady Comets. The Lady Comets have always had a solid set of wrestlers in their lineup year in and year out. However, Mexico came out in full force in the dual. Combined with the fact that the Lady Comets just had too many gaps to get the job done and were only able to win one of the contested matches in the dual. The Lady Comets lone match victory came by the hands of currently 7th ranked wrestler (via missouriwrestling.com) Skyla Schroeder.
The last round for the Mexico Lady Bulldogs was against an annual girls powerhouse, Marceline. The Lady Bulldogs were able to match the Marceline Lady Tigers point for point in the first six matches contested and afterward the Lady Bulldogs held a narrow 18-15 lead.
