Mexico Lady Bulldogs Kick Off the Season with “Building Blocks” at Wright City

With the fourth season now underway for the Lady Bulldogs Varsity program, it should come to know surprise that there will be plenty to write about as the team now boasts the biggest squad they ever had to open up a season.  But before we get to their first tournament of the season, there was some important information dropped by MSHSAA.  

On Friday, November 17, 2023, MSHSAA dropped the all-important District Tournament list for the entire state for both Class 1 and Class 2 Girls’ teams.  Mexico’s position hasn’t changed and will have a list similar to what they have had in years past.  The host team hasn’t been officially announced yet but will soon.  The reason this list of teams is brought up in the first place is because it’s never too early to be looking at and seeing where teams as well as individuals will be in just a few short months.  

Below is the list of teams (not including Mexico that were in attendance that will also be in the District Tournament lineup in February):  

Winfield, Wright City, Warrenton, Palmyra, Hallsville, Hannibal and Moberly.

The returning wrestlers for the Lady Bulldogs came out in dominant fashion with some early round victories.  Elizabeth Welch, Abigail Bowen, and Alexis Johns all secured wins in their first two rounds (several of them by pin) of round-robin/pool play…
