Mexico “Capital”izes On Their Opportunities Friday Night

Another familiar venue for the Lady Bulldogs to start their weekend a little early and another trip to the Jefferson City area to compete in the Capital City Invite.  Ten district opponents were scheduled to attend, including NCMC rival Hannibal, whom the Lady Bulldogs will dual next week on January 12th.  There are also a few schools that Mexico hasn’t seen yet this year, including Poplar Bluff and Hillsboro.

Overall the Lady Bulldogs as individuals went 13-10 and finished 5th as a team despite again being short-handed (missing three of their starters).  The following Lady Bulldogs placed; Katherine Bowen 1st, Elizabeth Welch and Shelby Shramek took 2nd, and Matty Tolbert took 4th.  

Next week the Lady Bulldogs have a loaded schedule and will be competing every day starting on Wednesday and running through Saturday.  All of these meets are scheduled to be on the road with included stops at Hannibal (NCMC Dual), Southern Boone (a quad meet with Versailles and Osage as well and all 3 are District Tournament Opponents), and the two-day St. Charles Invite (which currently has 25 teams listed to attend it).  And all of these meets the Lady Bulldogs will be traveling with their boy counterparts to all three of these meets.
