The Lathrop Invitational was almost over and several fans of Mid-Buchanan were paying close attention to the two matches going on side-by-side.

No, it wasn’t because anyone from the Dragons was competing. It was actually two Lathrop wrestlers going up against their opponents.

At the time, Mid-Buchanan was clinging to a 270-265 lead, but they didn’t have any wrestlers left by the time the event got to the 220-pound weight class finals. On the right, the Mules’ Quinton Wolfe was going against Jose Ruiz of Roger, Ark. for first place at 220. On the left, Lathrop’s Drake Chisam was taking on Albany’s Justin Dye for third place at 285.

The Mules needed a win from either wrestler to get the team victory. After Chism got pinned, the Dragons fans erupted with cheers.
