After day one the Tigers are sitting in 15th place with 12 points, just two points behind three teams tied for 10th place. Mack Mauger and Jarrett Stoner’s tournaments are ended but they have four wrestlers still competing. Gage Walker and Evan Bates both had big first round upsets to advance then lost their second match. Cam Steed looked excellent on day one and primed to make a run with upsets in his bracket. Aeoden Sinclair had a gritty second round to set up a big rematch with Angelo Ferrari in the morning. 

Action gets started at 11AM CT tomorrow, with quarterfinals and two consolation matches in the morning session. Winners in the quarterfinals become All-Americans, while consolation wrestlers that win will compete in the Friday night bloodround. Mizzou has high upside at multiple spots and an impressive day two could push them closer to a top ten finish.

– First Round: #1 Luke Lilledahl (PSU) Maj. #32 Mack Mauger (11-2)

– Consolation Round One: #16 Ezekiel Witt (NDSU) Dec. #32 Mack Mauger (5-2)

Mauger started his day with a solid decision win in the pigtail match. It was close but a late Mauger reattack got him the score and win. He then matched up with Lilledahl and struggled to keep up offensively. Mauger did well to keep it tight early but Lilledahl started to get his fakes and timing to score.
