Class 1:

Father Tolton

Father Tolton came into the state tournament with six wrestlers in the Class 1 brackets. The first session for the most part was positive for Trailblazers. During the opening round, they went 4-1, with those four advancing to the quarterfinals. In the second round (quarterfinals/first-round wrestle backs) all of the Trailblazers notched a victory, scoring some needed team points to stay on pace for a potential team trophy. In the third round, one Trailerblazer’s season came to an end (Kormeier, 138 lbs). He finished the tournament with a 1-2 record.

The other five Trailblazers advanced to Day 2 of wrestling, 1 of them on the consolation side. The other four wrestlers won their quarterfinal matches and advanced to the semi-finals tomorrow. All four of the semi-finalists are guaranteed a medal. The lone Trailblazer on the consolation side, Narron (@ 132 lbs) will have to win one more tomorrow to earn a medal….
