Despite being empty at four weight classes, Fort Osage relied on several dominating performances to claim the title in the Grain Valley Invite this weekend.
Claiming gold for the Indians were Rylan Mansfield-113, Dylan Reed-126, Jeremiah Phillips-160, David Jacquez-170, Gavin Gallman-182, and Stevie Gabb-285.
All other wrestlers for Fort finished in the top four of their brackets.
A deep Liberty North team kept the score close throughout the day, with several wrestlers medaling including a gold medal for Michael Domino at 106.
Kearney and Grain Valley battled several points below for third and fourth with Kearney coming out ahead at the end.
There were some dominating individual performances by several wrestlers. Pinning their way through the tournament were Domino at 106, Reed at 126, Phillips at 160, Gallman at 182, Newsom at 195, and Gabb at 285, with Reed, Newsom, and Gabb not letting the first period pass in any match.
Ashcroft at 132 also dominated with his only non pin coming from a tech fall, and Barker at 138 tech falling his way through the bracket.
