Ever since MSHSAA implemented a girls division in 2019, the Yellowjackets have been a dominant force. That continued Saturday at Mizzou Arena when they won their third team state championship in four years after accumulating 133 points.
Nixa was second with 91, Lafayette Wildwood was third with 60.5 and Park Hill south with 60.
Lebanon had six state medalists, including 130-pound champion Quincey Glendenning.
“It makes it so much fun being on a team that’s so successful,” Glendenning said. “It makes it a lot more fun.”
Below is a summary of the championship matches and the lists of the top six placers of each weight class:
100: Nixa senior Ashlyn Eli was in tears after she entered the tunnel and hugged some of her coaches. She capped off a great career with her third state title that ended with a 7-6 victory against Abigail Fuglsang of Camdenton.
“She’s very, very feisty. She’s go, go, go,” Eli said of Fuglsang. “I have a lot of respect for her. Hopefully win state next year and the years after that.”
