For the first time in Missouri High School Girls’ wrestling, there are 2 classes. This is a testament to the explosion of girls wrestling in the state of Missouri. Not only is it growing at an incredible rate but our state is having great finishes from our female wrestlers at the top tournaments in the country. This is exciting and shows the work that these ladies are putting along with the efforts by their coaches and support groups.

So we rolled into this past weekend with a new sense of excitement and pride that there would be 2 Classes for the girls’ teams. Class 2 District 2 would crown 14 Champions and send 56 wrestlers total to the State Tournament in Columbia, MO. Class 2 District 2 would also see Holt’s first female 4x District Champion in Maria Slaughter. She would win her 4th title in dominating fashion, pinning her way through the Finals! CONGRATS, Maria!!!
