Eric Akin wanted to give girls wrestlers in the Midwest another chance to hone their skills with the Diamonds in the Rough Tournament.

111-114 pounds: Soon to be Park Hill freshman Angelina Vargas got some of her first taste of high school competition after earning two tech fall victories, a 10-0 win against Madison Haney and 11-0 against Olivia Odonnell to take first.
“It was great. Those were some great girls,” Vargas said. “I am just getting ready for the high school season. My goal is to get to state and to be an All-American at Fargo Nationals.”
