Class 4 State Recap

COLUMBIA, Mo – Whether it was because of injury or illness, the Liberty boys wrestling team had wrestlers in and out of the lineup all season.

The Blue Jays even lost star heavyweight Jeremiah Cubuyban for the season due to a leg injury. Even while having to put out different lineups for a lot of duals and tournaments, Liberty usually found a way to win.

It did just that Saturday at Mizzou Arena as it captured its third straight state title after scoring 214.5 points, 100.5 ahead of second-place Seckman. Staley was third with 92.5 and Nixa was fourth with 86.

The Blue Jays had four state champions and six others with state medals.
