Class 2 State Recap

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Pleasant Hill wrestling team only had one state champion, but that didn’t stop them from making noise at the MSHSAA State Wrestling Championships Saturday at Mizzou Arena.

The Roosters totaled 178.5 points to repeat as state champions. Helias Catholic was second with 133, Kirksville was third with 98 and Cameron was fourth with 95.

Pleasant Hill has 10 of its 12 wrestlers earn state medals.

Below is a summary of the championship matches and the list of the top six placers in each weight division:

106: Monett sophomore Simon Hartline won his first state championship after a pin of Osage sophomore Zach Green in 1:40 during the championship match.

“It’s amazing. I have always thought about it, now I have done it,” Hartline said of winning a state championship.
