With evening temperatures still in the 40’s the Center Yellowjackets were eager to take part in a quadrangular held at Summit Christian Academy in Lee’s Summit, Mo. The month of January and the inclement weather that came with it the Yellowjackets have missed both practices and scheduled duals.
Center wrestling head coach Charles Misher admits the weather has been a big issue to over come “Canceled practices, duals pushed back and the Alan Isom tourney at home turned into a one day event”. Misher feels the team responded well saying just “Doing the best we can”.Evidence of that was on display at the Isom Invite where Misher was “pleasantly surprised”. Misher adds “We are so young, we wrestled hard all day”.
Coming to Summit Christian proved to be a wise choice as the young Yellowjackets scored well at the event that included University Academy and Lincoln Prep & the host Eagles. The Boys team defeated University Academy 39-24 to start off the event. Center stayed at the same mat to compete with Lincoln Prep.& won 48-24. The Center Girls team then went to work and soundly beat University Academy 60-12…
